Stop motion
2018
My video was inspired by the song 'Danse Macabre' by Camille Saint-Saëns and the cartoon The Skeleton Dance by Walt Disney Studios. I began making my stop motion by coming up with the story in my head and creating the designs of the characters. I knew from the beginning I wanted the characters to be animals because they are easier to draw than people. I used Danse Macabre because I liked the meaning behind the song, which is that death is a universal concept, and thought that it fit with the story of my video. When I finished my video I was proud of the designs of the characters, especially the demon antelope, but not of the pictures I took because they looked rushed and unprofessional. If I could redo anything in this project it would definitely be the pictures. When people see my work , I'd like them to come up with own interpretations of the story and meaning behind my video.
